Introduction
The Council for Work and Health, of which iOH is a member, brought members together to build a guide for employers of health care workers. Alongside the guide is a template policy document and a risk assessment checklist. Healthcare workers can be particularly at risk. NHS England and the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) note that healthcare workers are at increased risk during heatwaves due to prolonged exposure to warm environments, high workloads, and reduced opportunities for rest and hydration.
The toolkit is transferable to other occupations.
